Pre-k Only Charter School Funding HB2399

In August of 2025, Hawai'i's very first pre-k only charter schools opened. With ten new classrooms filled to capacity these charters offer FREE preschool for children during school hours. Pre-k only charters meet the needs of the community by offering high-quality early education at no cost in communities with high need. However, to operate a high-quality program in a standalone location requires more funds. Please support pre-k only charter schools and help make this a sustainable model for Hawai'i's families, children, and educators.

Early Learning Apprenticeship Grant Bill HB1872

This bill seeks funding to establish an Early Learning Apprenticeship Grant Program. Early Learning Apprenticeships have been proven to be an effective method for recruiting and retaining Early Learning Professionals. It is an 'earn while you learn' approach to professional development. Our working families need more options for childcare and early learning, but first, we need teachers! Support this measure so that our keiki can get the early learning opportunities they need and parents can go to work without worry knowing that their children are being taught by a well-compensated, well-prepared, well-supported early learning workforce.

Family Child Interactive Learning Funding HB2019

Family Child Interactive Learning (FCIL) Programs have been a bedrock in our communities for decades. However, these tremendously beneficial programs have gone largely unrecognized and underfunded within the state. These programs offer children and families the opportunity to engage in culturally relevant, high-quality, early learning experiences. Cargivers are able to gain a deeper understanding of child development and developmentally appropriate practices while children engage in meaningful experiences that support their healthy development.
